Here are some of the questions we're most often asked:
Are your meals Organic? Natural?
AK meals are nutrient-balanced around a healthy mix of protein and the right vegetables. They are always natural, but organic is not always available. Our meats are hormone free. The produce is fresh from Ontario farmers. Our meals are free from hydrogenated oils, modified starches, man-made dyes, and preservatives. Unlike many 'healthy' meals, we say NO to sugar, table salt, white flour and high fructose corn syrups. We rely on spices and natural sugars for seasoning, and use only coconut oil.
Do you have meals for diabetics? Gluten-free meals?
Our Nu-Paleo and Shredding meals are popular with both dietary restrictions.
What if I have food allergies?
You can opt out of fish or shrimp, but otherwise we cannot accommodate specific food allergies. AK uses both nuts and dairy in our kitchen.
What meal plan is right for me?
We all have different body types and different goals. Check out the various meal types to see what meets your needs.
When does Athletes Kitchen deliver?
Athletes Kitchen delivers twice weekly, Wednesdays and Sundays between 5pm and 11pm. AK cannot guarantee a specific delivery time. You will only receive half the week’s order at a time to ensure freshness.
When is the deadline to place my orders?
Order by Wednesday at midnight for Sunday delivery; Sunday at midnight for Wednesday delivery.
Can I pause my account?
No problem. Just log in and update your calendar to show skipped deliveries. Note changes must be made not later than midnight Wednesday for Sunday delivery, or midnight Sunday for Wednesdays.
I ordered a week’s worth of food but only got a partial delivery. What happened?
AK delivers twice weekly, Wednesdays and Sundays, to ensure that your meals are always fresh.
I have more meals than I can eat.
AK meals and packaging are freezer-safe. Freeze them if you cannot consume them within 3-4 days.
Can I pick up my food instead of it being delivered?
Our deliveries are pre-planned, and store space is limited and has a different menu. However in urgent circumstances, we will try to accommodate you.
What if I live in an apartment or condo?
If your residence requires front desk/call box access, it is your responsibility to ensure our drivers have access on arrival. If not, meals will be left with your concierge. If the driver cannot enter the building to complete delivery, the delivery will be missed, and no credit issued.
Are they free? When do I leave it out? What if I forget or lose it?
An insulated cooler bag is automatically added to your first order. Leave it out BEFORE 5PM on Wednesdays and Sundays for pick up and re-fill. If you forget, we’ll leave your meals in a paper bag. If you lose your bag, replacements are available for $6 when you place your next order.
